YEAR'S END MUSINGS

To close out the year, here are a few random musings from 2024…

The first step in solving a problem is seeing the problem properly – and quite often that is the problem.

It is not by chance that the Queen was designated the most powerful piece on the chessboard.

Many who complain about the government being in the bedroom don’t seem to mind the media being there.

“Enjoy the go!” (ad slogan for Charmin toilet tissue).  How do we not find this phrase strange?

Some clowns are funny and are to be laughed at.  But some are creepy and to be feared.  Confusing the two can be a dangerous error.

Dennis Prager asks this excellent question: “Is it just to take someone else’s life and still be allowed to keep your own?”

The longer I walk as a Christian, the less I find myself concerned with distinguishing right from wrong and the more I find myself concerned with distinguishing what is wise from what is foolish.

I sometimes wonder where birds go to die.

Don’t get angry at pettiness.  Laugh at it.

I used to be upset by insults from those who hate Christians and Christianity.  But the longer I walk with Christ, the more such hostility confirms my faith -- because Jesus told us to expect this very thing.  It’s not just a doctrine.  It’s the way reality naturally works.

Sneering at patriotism is not a mark of sophistication.

The people of Sodom thought Lot was the problem.

My greatest regrets are not memories of the things I did wrong, but of things I said and did, certain I was right, when I was, in fact, wrong.

May God continue to bless us all in 2025!
Happy New Year!
